The lockdown
Locked inside my little hut,
While the work remains shut,
I’m a laborer who’s poor,
Can’t even feed a family of four.
My infant cries due to hunger,
Each day’s getting painful and longer.
Haven’t yet received any relief,
In the government I’ve lost my belief,
The politicians who got our votes
Are corrupt only craving for bank notes,
My gratitude to the doctor and nurse
Without whom our life would be worse.
May the deceased rest in peace
And the death toll decrease,
I pray that the pandemic ends soon,
A vaccine or medicine will be a boon
for women, children, old and sick
who lack immunity as they’re weak.
If rich people helped the poor
By providing aid to destitute more,
Together this problem could be solved,
Us humans ever stronger and evolved.
